El Alacran was inspired by the Mexican card game, La Loteria, from which it draws its name. A gifted bottle of cheap mezcal from Mexico had the bike’s namesake hanging in the smokey liquor and after a few shots, it was decided the bike would be built around it.
Sporting a raked frame, molded tins, high pipes and uncomfortable controls, the bike features a mix of Japanese and Mexican styles and is probably going to be as much of a pain in the ass as the arachnid that inspired it. Built for the Idle Hands Chopper Show, this bike has been a journey that has tested the limits of patience and physics alike, hopefully ending up at the show as a running, riding chopper in July.
